The St. Mary’s College community held a Remembrance Service on Armistice Day to remember the victims of war and conflict and to pay tribute to former pupils who have been killed in action. Their names are recorded on a plaque within the school building, where a wreath was laid in their honour.

Staff and students observed a two-minute silence on the schoolyard to mark the poignant occasion, and the Last Post was played by Sixth Form student Joshua Wright.

At the end of the service, members of the CCF visited the cemetery at SS Peter & Paul Church to place crosses on the graves of former pupils who died while serving in the military.

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning.
We will remember them.
