Altcar Half Term CCF Camp

Posted on 30 Oct 2015

The half term camp at Altcar, was very well attended and we were assisted by members of 4th battalion the Parachute regiment. They took the senior cadets through a wide range of skills, notably TIBUA (or Tactics In Built Up Areas).

The recruits learnt Field Craft, Cooking in the Field and all took part in firing with the Number 8 rifle on the Open range. We were delighted to be joined on the range by former pupil Sapper Sam Tasker, who currently serves with the Royal Engineers. Most managed to hide themselves very well on the Flag pole Challenge, some acquitted themselves well in the orienteering exercise and all age groups seemed to have enjoyed the night out at Southport Bowling and Laser Quest.

RAF cadets also flew from RAF Woodvale.
