Some 20 cadets and seven adults took part in a five day Adventure Training exercise over Easter. Based at Halton Training Camp near Lancaster they experienced a variety of activities and weathers.
We climbed Harrison Stickle in the Langdales in the Lake District on a day that began with sunshine, which turned into rain then sleet and then full blown snow. A day was spent on the indoor climbing walls at Kendal. We then split into two groups for the final two days with alternate activities of caving at Long Churn near Ingleborough and canoeing the length of Coniston water. The latter was flat as a mill pond and sunny for one group and somewhat choppier and rainy for the other.
Of an evening there was the traditional drive in to Morecambe for bowling and the even more traditional last night pizza meal.
