After months of preparation we were delighted to get rugby fixtures back on the calendar last week and our matches against St. Anselm's College were amongst the first grass roots fixtures to take place in the country.
Our U12s (A&B), U13s and U14s all played against fellow Edmund Rice school St. Anselm’s with both schools taking large squads to ensure everyone got a game, adhering to ‘Return to Rugby’ protocol.
Even the simple pleasure of getting on a bus to play reminded us all of the fun that we've been missing out on and we look forward to a full calendar of block fixtures in the weeks ahead. So many of our boys were representing St. Mary's for the first time and their pride and commitment were wonderful to see.
Following a year of missed fixtures the standard of rugby was much higher than both schools could have dreamt of.
Well done to all; we’re back!
