College blazers and ties were left at home as students donned dinner jackets, suits and fashionable dresses for the glittering occasion which was again held at the Marriott Hotel in Liverpool city centre.
Around 85 Sixth Formers attended the ball which this year had a Great Gatsby theme.
The event - one of the highlights of the school’s social calendar - was organised by a committee of students led by Gabrielle Bogle, Isabella Jones and Kali Breslin with the help of Head of Religious Studies Patrick Duffy and Head of Sixth Form, Carole Killen.
Principal, Mr Kennedy, commented: "The winter ball is an excellent opportunity for our Sixth Formers to take time out from their studies and celebrate this special time of year with their friends.
“This year’s event was another first-class occasion, with all the pupils putting a lot of thought, time and effort into dressing up and making it a stylish and fashionable evening to remember.
“I would like to thank the students and staff who organised the ball for all the hard work they put into making it such a successful event, and a great way to mark the end of term and the end of the year,” added Mr Kennedy.
