We were delighted to welcome Storm Consultancy to school to deliver a First Aid course for pupils in Year 5 and 6. The children learnt CPR using the training manikins and were taught essential life saving techniques. They also were shown the treatment for chocking and bleeding and built up their confidence on how to help someone poorly or injured.
The MD of Storm Consultancy, Jonathan Cunningham, is a volunteer First Responder for the NHS Ambulance Service and he showed the children the ‘kit’ he carries to provide Basic Life Support to critically ill or injured people prior to them being transported to hospital for further treatment. It was a wonderful morning for the children and with the hands-on activities delivered by medical professionals, really helped them understand and acquire skills to help keep each other safe.
