Congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 pupils who gave up their free time recently to 'bag pack' in Sainsbury's, Crosby to raise money for our twinned school, St Martin's in Gbanga. As part of the 'Liverpool to Liberia' fundraising initiatives, the children, parents and Mount staff raised a staggering £1,300 on the day from donations given by shoppers at the tills. Our pupils were fantastic ambassadors for the school as they chatted confidently and enthusiastically about the worthy cause and numerous members of the public and shop staff commented on how knowledgeable and polite they were.
St Martin's School school is currently facing an uncertain future and is dealing with the impact the Ebola disease is having on the community and surrounding area. The money will be used to help get the school back on its feet and offer on-going support as it tries to rebuild following the devastating effects of the disease.
