Girls Sports Programme September 2020

Posted on 08 Sep 2020

Welcome back!

As we embark upon a new school year, we aim to give the students as ‘normal’ a year of school sport as is safely possible to do so. Please accept that we must work within the guidelines of each National Governing Body, as well as educational guidelines so please bear with us on some aspects of what we can and can’t do!

We are very aware that we were unable to deliver a full summer sports programme, so we plan to catch up on the summer sports whilst also introducing aspects of the winter sports programme. This will include athletics, football and rounders initially.

With regard to the use of the sports hall, it is strictly one age group allowed inside the sports hall at any time. This means we have decided to align all lunchtime and after-school practices to occur at the same time as the boy’s practices in the same age group.

Pupils can only enter the sports hall on their allocated time slot, on their allocated day.

Lunchtime activities start from Wednesday 10th September

After-school activities start from Monday 14th September

Saturday practices start from Saturday 12th September

Lunchtime activities:

On their allocated lunchtime we ask that pupils meet us on the yard at 12:30. We will then take them over to the sports hall and they will have the option of playing badminton or netball shooing until 1.00pm.

Games Lessons

To reduce the amount of people in the changing rooms, pupils should come to school in their games kit (Hoodies + Leggings) if possible.  Pupils should wear their trainers and bring football boots with them. Pupils will walk to the games field with members of the PE department and will be dismissed from the field at 3.45pm where they can either walk home, be collected by car or by their usual school bus.
