Boys Sports Update: 11/10/17: Seniors over come Bolton

The rugby teams have improved of late, so much so that this year we decided to take on Bolton School in a block fixture for the first time since 2002. Whilst we only won one of the five games there wasn’t too much between the two sides and results got better as we get older, culminating an excellent 26-5 victory for the 1st XV.

Under 12s lost 6-0

Under 13s lost 40-20

Under 14s lost 15-14

Under 15s lost 15-7

1st XV won 26-5

The 1st XV also beat St David’s College, Llandudno 33-19 last wednesday


Midweek practices

Monday               Fitness for all in the sportshall until 4:55pm

Tuesday               Year 7 & 8 Rugby Skills   Sportshall

                                Year 9 & 10 Strength & Conditioning

Wednesday        Badminton in the Sportshall until 4:55pm

Thursday             Senior training until 4:55pm (this is now at the sportshall and is strength & conditioning)

All Days                Boys Sports Activities 12:30-1pm


Midweek fixtures

Tomorrow, the Year 10 play Deyes HS at football at home in the Sefton Cup. The match begins at 4pm and will be finished by 5pm


Next Wednesday the 1st XV play Manchester Grammar School on Wednesday 18th October away. We leave at 12:15pm to return between 5:30pm & 6pm.

There are no fixtures this Saturday

Sports Plan

Just so new parents are aware, the plan for sports fixtures this year is as below

Autumn Term                    The main sport is Rugby, also with Sefton Cup football and Basketball (after half-term)

Lent Term                           The main sport is football, with block rugby fixtures until half-term, rugby sevens and cricket preparation.

Summer Term                   The main two sports are Cricket & Athletics with Golf also played.
