Boys Sports Report: 21st November 2018
Matches vs AKS Lytham
Under 12s won 40-20
Under 13s lost 30-20
Under 14s won 53-29
Under 15s won 47-0
1st XV won 31-21
Four out of the five matches were won against AKS Lytham, which is an amalgamation of Arnold School and KES Lytham.
This is the first time the 1st XV have beaten AKS Lytham away since we went co-educational in the 1980s. In fact ten years ago we were playing their 2nd XV so the boys are doing brilliantly.
The under 15s are one Saturday match away from going the entire block fixture season undefeated which is the first time this has occurred since the under 14s of 2007-8.
The under 14s have been heavily defeated on the two previous matches versus AKS and this time won 53-29 (they are the most improved team in school).
The under 13s showed huge progress to lose 30-20 and continue to develop as a team. To put the result into context, we lost to Birkenhead by 50 points and AKS Lytham beat Birkenhead by 30 points so this is a very heartening result.
The under 12s once again won 40-20 and have lost just two fixtures all year proving to be a very skilful team.
So all in all, every year group is showing huge progress.
Under 12s lost 4-1 v Merchant Taylors
Under 14s won 6-2 v Bury Grammar School (next round is last 32 v St Bede’s Manchester)
Under 16s won 9-0 v Nether Stowe, Tamworth (next round is last 32 v Lakelands Academy, North Shropshire next Wednesday 28th November)
