Boys Sports Update 29/03/17

Under 14s runners-up, senior football success, slight change to weekend cricket and a reminder of Extra-Curricular Clubs


The under 14s had a superb tournament at Kirkham but eventually lost out to Kirkham GS in the final. That concludes the hugely successful rugby season. 


SMC v RGS Lancaster: 43-7 won

SMC v Audenshaw; won 33-0

SMC v Manchester Grammar School: won 33-7 

SMC v Kirkham B: won 46-0




SMC v Merchant Taylors

Won 28-12




Lost 32-0 to Kirkham


This weeks senior football saw the 1st XI beat QEGS Blackburn 5-0 with goals from Matty Travers 2, Lewis Franey 2 and Adam Wood. 


The 2nd XI 'Irons' beat AKS Lytham 2-1 with goals from Brett Barnes and a 30 yard worldy from George Clarke.

Under 12s won 7-2

Under 13s lost 5-2

Under 14s won 6-1


Two fixtures vs St Michael's. 

Under 12s won 7-2

Under 14s lost 4-2


A reminder of sports clubs. 

Table tennis and badminton Friday mornings morning for all 7:45-8:45

Cricket this week is slightly different. Due to the derby starting at 1230 both beginners and intermediates will be in the 9-10 slot. 

Seniors are in the sportshall from 10-11

Badminton continues after school on Thursday from 4-5. 

Every day sees Boys Sports Activities from 1230-1 with Boxing also running on Monday and Fridays.
