1st XV in Quarter-final of Nat West Plate; and all other sports news

Posted on 29 Nov 2019

The 1st XV progressed in the Nat West Plate despite an 11 all draw at Bradford Grammar School. Bradford, three times winners of the previously formatted Daily Mail Cup took an early lead but an Alfie Mutch try and two penalties from Ben Skea including a late one to level meant that we went through on the away rule. We play holders Bloxham School in the quarter-final who defeated King’s School Worcester 17-8; date to be confirmed.

Last weekend we played St Edward’s College at junior level with the under 12, 13 and 14 all winning.

The under 12s won 5-3 and the under 13s won 7-2. A special mention must got to the under 14s who won 38-33 in the last minute to record their first win of the season. Despite a small squad these boys have battled hard all year and played brilliantly to record a win.

This weekend the fixtures are as follows;

Vs Ripley St Thomas/Rossall School

Under 12 A & B home

Under 15 home

1st XV home.

8:55am meet for all but 8:45am meet for 1st XV forwards

Vs Ripley St Thomas, Lancaster (away)

Under 13 & 14

7:55am meet with a 12:30pm return

Congratulations to Ben Skea & Joe Stuart who represent Lancashire v Durham at Blaydon Rugby Club on Sunday.

All practices are ON next week including strength & conditioning and Badminton.

Good luck to all those boys playing their first ever game of rugby tomorrow in the Under 12 B game; let the journey begin!!
