Dear Parents
Welcome back to school for another busy term of sport.
Just a reminder for all that games lessons other than for Year 9 finish at the field at the end of the day so if you usually collect your children, they will be at the Games Field (L23 4TR).
With regards to kit, the rugby top, blue shorts and socks with studded boots is the games kit whilst the PE kit is white socks, blue shorts and St Mary's PE top. If for any reason you don't have a white St Mary's top at the start of term this is no problem at all, just wear a white t-shirt/polo-shirt. We are aware of some problems with Kukri and are doing our best to sort them.
We strongly advise that pupils have a gum-shield for Games lessons as the programme is rugby throughout the first term. We have 'boil and bite' style gum-shields in stock at the field and are £5 if you haven't already got them.
Training/lunchtime practices
Thursday after school will be rugby skills training for Years 7-9 whilst all other age groups will be in the gym doing some strength & conditioning. If there are football fixtures arranged on the same night, they take priority.
This Saturday the Under 13 & 14 rugby team play QEGS Blackburn School away. It is an 8:00am meet in school tracksuit/uniform for a 10:00am start. The boys shall return to school between 12:15-12:30pm.
The under 12 & 1st XV will train at the games field from 9:00am-10:30am. All squad to attend please.
A group of boys will be training at Table-Tennis at Bath Street, Marine Table Tennis Club every Monday. The sessions are open to all age groups and the boys need to be picked up at 4:55pm from the Club itself. The address is Arriva Stadium, Marine AFC, College Road, Crosby, Liverpool L23 3AS. The boys will be walked down and supervised by St Mary’s College staff. Please ensure they wear trainers.
Football, badminton and rugby practices/activities are on every lunchtime except Tuesdays.
The St. Mary’s College twitter feed can be found at @Stmaryssport and results and fixture information can be found on there.
Finally, it has been a busy summer for some of our higher profile former pupils. Details below:

Gavin bowled the last over of the National 20/20 final for Lancashire against Northamptonshire and secured Lancashire’s first ever victory in the 20/20 format. He also starred in the semi-final. Gavin can be seen below bowling the last over and taking the wicket of Shahid Afridi.
Carl Fearns:

After many years at Bath Rugby, Carl has joined Olympic Lyonnais in Frances top division.

Morgan Feeney:
