During the festive period, St. Mary’s held their annual Festive Reunion & Sports Day event. Former students and staff came together for a day of sporting fixtures held at local venues around Crosby.
St. Mary’s current College Netball team played a competitive game against St. Mary’s Old Girls at local Crosby Leisure Centre, resulting in a close score of 22 – 20 to the School team. The games continued at Marine Football Club, where St. Mary’s Retired Captains played a game of Football against St. Mary’s Old Boys, finishing with a 3 – 8 (points score: 15 – 40) win for the Old Boys. This game was then followed by an eventful game of Rugby at Waterloo Rugby Club, ending in a win for the School Team 46 – Old Boys 24. To finalise the day, past and current pupils continued the festivities at Waterloo RC catching up with one another over hot food and beverages.
The event was a tremendous success once again, with three exciting alumni sports fixtures taking place at three excellent local venues. After an eventful day of fixtures, the Stuart Fraser Bates Memorial Trophy was won by one point by the Old Boys & Girls, with an aggregate score of 84-83!
A huge congrats to the Old Boys & Girls who were the overall winners from the day. Thank you to all those who took part and those who supported from the sidelines. It was a lovely event to be part of.
