Welcome to Bright Sparks & Early Years
Thank you for visiting the Bright Sparks & Early Years website. These pages will provide you with an insight into the day-to-day life of our exciting setting and the learning activities, play and fun that children aged 0-4 can enjoy here.
Bright Sparks has an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted & ISI rating and is a member of the National Day Nurseries Association. Our nursery has built up an excellent reputation as one of the very best pre-school settings in the area.
Located in the homely and friendly surroundings of Claremont House, the spacious Victorian mansion in which St. Mary’s College was first founded in 1919, Bright Sparks provides boys and girls with the best possible start to their educational journey.
Our nursery includes a Baby Room (0-14 months), Toddler Room (14-24 months), Tots Room (2-3 years), Kindergarten (3 years) and Pre-School (4+ years).
We have four outdoor locations for children to explore and play in together: an outdoor forestry area; a garden area; a lovely all-weather play area with a natural wooden hide and climb lodge, ‘hobbit’ house and humpback hill; plus a separate tarmac area for bikes, trikes, cars and trucks.
Our aim, with the help of these excellent facilities and our energetic staff, is to provide children with the best start to their education.
We do this by offering a stimulating, creative and – above all – happy environment in which each child in our care is able to learn and develop to the best of their abilities.
We are very proud that our work has been commended by the Independent Schools Inspectorate who said in their most recent report on Bright Sparks that ‘all children make excellent progress in their learning and development’.
