St. Mary’s welcomes author Sarah Leonard

St. Mary’s welcomes author Sarah Leonard  Banner

19 Jan 2022

Members of the St. Mary’s reading club were fortunate to have a visit from former student Sarah Leonard during a lunchtime session this week. Sarah has recently published her first novel, The Islanders, and is due to have her second novel, The Influencers, published shortly.

The students very much enjoyed the insight Sarah offered into the world of writing novels, the practical advice concerning story structuring, presenting characters and ideas, as well as the process an author goes through to have their work published. Sarah said: “The students asked some incredible questions about characters, genre and plot. I was so impressed. I can’t wait to see their writing one day.”

We are hoping to welcome Sarah back to St. Mary’s to speak to our students again. They were certainly very inspired by her visit and the wisdom and experience she had to offer.
