The St. Mary’s College community is grieving following the sudden death of Euan McNamara, a much-loved member of Year 11 and our school family.
The news of Euan’s death has come as a terrible shock to us all and our thoughts and prayers are with Euan’s family and friends including his sister, Megan, a Year 9 pupil at our school.
To pass away at such a young age is truly tragic, and Euan’s sad loss is keenly felt throughout the whole St. Mary’s community.
We will all remember Euan in our own way and will cherish our memories of him in our hearts forever. We will remember Euan’s friendship and love; his strong sense of justice, and his passion to do what he believed was right. We will also remember Euan’s unending curiosity; always asking lots of questions about anything and everything. Above all, we will remember the joy and smiles he brought to so many of us on a daily basis.
A keen sportsman, Euan was often found on the rugby, football and cricket field, supporting his team, encouraging all around him to do their best; he was a talented sportsman and an example to everyone.
Euan will remain with us in our hearts, in our thoughts and prayers, and in everything we do over the coming days, weeks and years.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him,
may he rest in peace, Amen.
