St. Mary’s College First XV Rugby Team are Lancashire Plate winners!

The First XV capped off an excellent season with a comprehensive 48-5 win against Liverpool College in the Lancashire Plate Final. The boys played some excellent free-flowing rugby against a huge team.
The lads have won 16 out of 19 matches this year including fantastic wins against Nottingham HS, AKS Lytham, Merchants and Stockport GS. With sevens tournaments, the Italy tour and a weekend in the Isle of Man, the lads have represented the school excellently and have built some memories together that will stay forever.
Of the 18 boys in the final, 16 have been with us since year 7, with one joining in Year 8 and one in Year 9; it’s been an incredible journey.
A huge thanks to all the boys for their efforts this season and an even bigger thanks to Freddie, Leachy and the rest of the Upper Sixth form who have left the 1st XV with a solid platform to build from for the next two years. Thank you to all the boys who have contributed this year!
