We know exams and revision can be challenging in all kinds of ways…

So, we have teamed up with some of our Lower Sixth Form pupils to put together study tips and advice on how to make the most of your revision time, succeed in your exams and feel prepared.

So, take a deep breath and know that we’ve got your back.

01. Map out a study plan

Create a schedule to know when your exams will fall and map out your study plan around it.

With this, you can pace yourself and avoid cramming in any last minute revision.

02. Take (short) breaks often

Regular study breaks are essential to refresh your brain, body, and increase your energy, productivity, and ability to focus.

Create a cycle which works for you, for example, you could work for one hour and then take a 15 minute break.

03. Use different resources

Websites, apps, podcasts and past papers are all great ways to revise! A few of our favourite websites are…

Seneca Learning
BBC Bitesize
Free Science Lessons – Youtube
Study Smarter
Physics and Maths Tutor

04. Make DIY study aids

Making flashcards and study maps are great study techniques. The repetition of practice helps you figure out what information you can remember easily and what needs additional effort.

Need inspiration to make engaging flashcards and mindmaps? Check out this BBC Bitesize link or use the App Anki Flash Cards

05. Create a revision-friendly study space

A peaceful, quiet space where you can leave your study materials is essential when it comes to creating a revision-friendly zone. This means creating a dedicated space.

We hope our tips and tricks have helped you to feel ready for your exams!
