Pastoral Organisation

The pastoral care of all our pupils is both a strength and a priority at St. Mary’s and was quite rightly deemed to be excellent in our most recent ISI inspection.

All pupils in Years 7-11 are assigned to Form Groups. As well as providing a central point of contact for academic issues, the Form Tutors plays a key role in guiding the Form both pastorally and spiritually.

In the Sixth Form, students are assigned to Tutor Groups under the direction of the Head of Sixth Form. These Tutors act as pastoral guides throughout the A Level course, giving advice on a wide range of topics, in particular, study skills and university and/or career choice. The Tutor is responsible for drafting the student’s final school reference.
