During the month of October our school community showed their generosity once again by supporting the Liverpool White Chapel Centre in their Socktober campaign. Welcoming Tori from the charity to speak to our pupils about the initiative and how it will help the homeless, especially during the colder months. We then made a start on gathering and collecting donations from our St. Mary’s community.

We donated nearly 200 pairs of socks for homeless people in our community. The children found it very interesting going to the warehouse to see the team in action as they prepared the Christmas packs for the homeless in Liverpool. The children thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in the campaign and it was lovely for our pupils to meet all the volunteers that helped with this fantastic cause. On the back of this campaign the children wanted to do more, so as a school, we returned to the Centre in December to drop off selection boxes to add to the Christmas packs.
